Mission Statement

Steve Pike Building and Development is committed to providing a professional project management and construction service with a focus on minor works and transportable buildings. The philosophy of Steve Pike Building and Development is best illustrated through our approach to service our clients. Our company is able to offer clients end-to-end project management and construction services. We offer a personalised service that will satisfy even the most stringent specifications.

Ownership

The business was established in 2005 and is wholly owned and operated in South Australia by South Australians.

Management Experience

The management team has had over 35 years of hands-on experience in the project management and construction industry. This experience is complemented by a demonstrated leadership in senior management positions.

Services

The services we provide cover the entire range of project management and construction works. Our core business specialises in the installation, relocation and refurbishment of transportable building complexes and multitask minor works projects on government and corporate assets. We utilise the services of proven and experienced tradesmen who are either direct employees or from a stable of contractors and subcontractors. We have the capability to deliver projects in metropolitan, regional and remote sites.

We are committed to providing an unmatched quality of service through our up to the minute personal reporting and response. We deliver on the plan and execute the required project scope. We provide a fully compliant end product free of defects at handover.

Safety

We are committed to the principles of duty of care. Employer and employees are responsible for their own safety and that of their colleagues. Our multitiered safety program includes active risk assessment; the preparation of JSEA’s, work method statements and our cornerstone safety program. The program involves company, project and site inductions plus daily tool box meetings.

Environment

We have the experience, capacity and structure to implement efficient and cost-effective recycling programs for those clients interested. If waste or surplus materials cannot be correctly recycled on site we relocate materials to our workshop and recycle there. We are committed to efficient use of building materials and adopt buildability practices to ensure future and current environment consideration. Construction work often involves contact with hazardous materials. We plan our projects so to eliminate or minimise contact with hazardous materials.

Equipment

We manage most projects using our own in-house equipment. Our equipment is regularly serviced, tagged and well managed. Our team is appropriately trained in the use of all necessary construction equipment and are equipped with task specific PPE.

Training

Our tradesmen have qualifications appropriate to the task. The tradesmen undertake comprehensive in-house competency based training and we provide active opportunities for individuals to extend their knowledge by learning skills that increase their qualifications.

Client Relations

We pride ourselves on building strong relationships with our clients we respect loyalty and have a solid understanding of how important communications with our clients is. Our tradesmen are encouraged to liaise and communicate with clients directly they understand when issues need to be escalated and when they can use their own judgement for decision making on site.

Security

Tradesmen are carefully selected and placed only at locations appropriate to their experience and skills. All staff have police checks prior to employment.Tradesmen are required to wear uniforms and display identification at all times.

Accounts

We operate computerised accounting systems. We submit and receive accounts electronically and make payments by direct debit. The system is flexible enough to be tailored to meet the needs of our clients. We have a certified accountant that oversees our financial management.

Insurance

The company carries Public Risk Liability Insurance to the value of $20 million and all team members are protected under the provisions of Work Cover.
